Ardora emerges as a reflection of our innate connection to light—the guiding presence that not only illuminates our world but sustains life itself. Humans, like all living beings, are naturally drawn to light. But what happens when we look beyond the sun to explore new forms of illumination? This installation invites us to imagine other kinds of light—alive, ethereal, and almost magical.

At the heart of Ardora are bioluminescent dinoflagellates known as Pyrocystis fusiformis. Through a phenomenon called bioluminescence, these microscopic organisms light up the darkness with their mesmerizing glow—a brilliance that appears only when we interact with them. In this moment of connection, the artwork comes alive, offering viewers a glimpse into the mystery and beauty of the oceans.
