Site-specific installation, highlighting the interconnectedness of individual including those of non-human species. The work incorporates interspecies communication as a conceptual framework, proposing empathy and co-existence as necessary tools in times of ecological and social fragmentation.
Central to the installation is the use of microbial cellulose—a living material produced through fermentation. These bacterial mats, which naturally form at the air-liquid interface to protect and support microbial life, are cultivated and shaped into lighting sculptures distributed throughout the space. A layered soundscape immerses the viewer in the sonic rhythms of microbial activity.
